100% local capture · your data never leaves your machine

Find the 30 minutes your screen eats every day.

TimeLeak watches your workday — a screenshot every 5 seconds, locally — then a cheap AI model turns 8,640 lines of metadata into a daily brief that names your exact time leaks and hands you the fix: the hotkey, the script, the digest, the extension.

How it works

Watch → count → confirm → fix.

1

Watch, locally

Every 5 seconds: one line of metadata (app, window, idle) and one downscaled screenshot — to a local folder that auto-prunes after 7 days.

2

Count what repeats

Minutes per app, context switches per hour, polling loops, focus blocks. Pure math, no AI, no network.

3

Let a cheap model read the day

One compact digest to a small model on your key. It writes the observations ledger — every suspected leak gets a counter.

4

Fix what's confirmed

Seen 3 days running? The brief names the behavior, the minutes, and the exact mechanical fix. You apply it once; the minutes come back forever.

Real briefs, first week

The kind of thing it finds

Morning digest instead of a polling loop.

The watcher caught eight cyclical page-checks before 10am. The brief replaced them with a single scheduled digest containing everything those visits were hunting for.

≈ 22 min/day back
Hotkey idea-capture.

Capturing content ideas was a 5–10 minute app-hopping ritual. Now it's one hotkey, dictate a line, straight back to work.

≈ 7 min/day back
The voice-tool swap that paid for itself.

A paid dictation tool added ~250ms per insert, hundreds of times a day. The brief flagged the frequency and suggested a free local swap: 50ms and $15/mo saved.

≈ minutes/day + $15/mo back

Estimated savings from the briefs shown; your leaks will be your own.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Do my screenshots get uploaded anywhere?

No. Capture is 100% local — screenshots and metadata stay in a folder on your machine and auto-delete after 7 days. The Pro brief sends only a compressed text digest (and, only if you opt in per-run, up to 20 sampled frames) to the AI model you configured with your own API key.

What does the AI analysis cost to run?

About 1–3 cents per day with the default small model, billed to your own API key. That's why Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — the ongoing compute is basically free.

What platforms does TimeLeak support?

Windows is fully supported including one-command auto-install. macOS works in beta (app-level tracking + screenshots). It's plain Python — readable, auditable, yours.

How is this different from RescueTime or a time tracker?

Trackers tell you how long you spent in categories. TimeLeak names the specific repeat behavior — 'you re-checked these 6 pages 14 times before noon' — estimates the minutes it costs, and hands you the concrete fix. See the comparison pages for details.

Is there a refund policy?

14 days, no questions. Reply to your receipt email and it's done.

Why do patterns need 3 days to confirm?

One unusual day generates noise. A behavior that shows up three separate days is a habit — that's when the brief promotes it to a confirmed leak worth engineering away.
